Camp DETAILS

Overview

Summer strides is all about igniting the spark of joy that running can bring to someone. Specifically, our goal is ignite that spark for kids is the Bay Area and show them that cross country and track are great sports that they'll ultimately love in high school and potentially beyond! The camp is offered only to kids entering 6th through 9th grade in the upcoming school year, but no other restrictions apply. 2024 is our first year and we're excited to offer this camp completely for FREE for this year.

What to Expect

With Summer Strides, our entire purpose is to make running fun! That means we're not going to be putting the kids through grueling workouts, sending them off on 10 mile rules, or making them bench press 2x their body weight (although that might all sound like fun to some people...). At the same time, we want to ensure that we're setting everyone up for success by educating proper running form and setting good habits for recovery, core strength, and mobility. We will have a lot of running that is based in games or activities; we'll have runs in different locations; and we'll have a lot of fun! Oh, and there will be prizes...lots of prizes!

Kids should make sure they have proper running shoes and full water bottles at every session!

Coach Smith and Coach Sam are the camp directors and will run most of the activities themselves. There will also be some Junior Coaches helping out, and we encourage all kids to get to know them because they might be teammates in the future!
